EXPERIENCE

  • Five years judicial experience on the Alabama Supreme Court and 16 years as Jefferson County Probate Judge.
  • Practiced law for 16 years prior to election. Member of the Alabama State Bar and Birmingham Bar Association.
  • Graduate of Cumberland Law School (Associate Editor of Law Review) and Samford University (with honors)
  • Served as President, Secretary & Treasurer of Alabama Probate Judges Association
  • Commissioner on Governor’s Commission on Consolidation, Efficiency & Funding.


CHILD ADVOCATEMike Bolin with Adoptive Family

  • As Probate Judge in Jefferson County, presided over 6,000 adoptions.
  • Nationally recognized in 2000 by “Angels of Adoption” in Washington, DC for his service to adoptive families.
  • Authored Alabama’s Putative Father Registry Law to protect the rights of parties in adoption proceedings.
  • Serves on the Board of Directors of Heart Gallery, Alabama, an organization dedicated to finding permanent loving families for children in Alabama’s foster care system.
  • Serves on the Board of Directors of Glenwood, a nonprofit organization that provides treatment and education services for individuals diagnosed with autism, emotional disturbances, and mental illness.
